Prop 8

I saw what Chelsea did on her blog, and thought it would be appropriate for mine too! We are battling it out with just about everyone. No one wants to stand up for what they believe. Prop 8 would be an amendment to the state constitution that would say that "only marriage between a man and a woman will be recognized in the state of CA." It's the same wording that was on prop 22 back in 2000. That was overturned by the superme court with a 4-3 vote. What I can't believe is that everyone is ok with the courts just throwing away what the people wanted! Who cares if the peoples feeling have changed, they should have waited to put it on a ballot! Anyhoo, I've been calling around. I know. It's aweful. Most people say they don't care, why can't people be happy. And all that load of ____. Anyhoo. It's pretty hard putting your heart and soul into something like this and people just shove it back in your face, or they just hang up. And we haven't had the support in the members of the church that we should have. They're gonna vote yes (I hope), but they don't come to pound the pavement or call people up. It's really not that hard. And it's not confrontational. If someone gets all huffy, I just tell them what I believe and thank you for your time. They normally don't hear much of my own opinion, though. I'm apparently evil for being so closed minded! Oh well. We'll fight till the end! Go prop 8! Vote YES on Proposition 8!
