Vanessa is 2

Vanessa turned 2 on July 13th. It wasn't a Friday this time, not for a few years, but she sure does push her luck. Two days before her b-day we had a party for her. Our car broke down, so Jimmy missed half of it. I made lots of food. Vanessa loves to eat. We had also bought pools for the kids to play in. A big one and a tiny one. Vanessa didn't come to ask for food for 2 hours! I think she might have found something she likes more than food. All her friends had a great time splashing in the water. My friends had a great time lounging in the shade and eating! Vanessa got to blow out her own candles this year. It was pretty exciting. She did get a bad sunburn because I had lost our sunscreen. But it was fun putting lotion on her back, and now she brings the lotion to me and sits down in front of me with her back to me. It's quite cute.

Then on her b-day we went to her friend Ashton's birthday party. All went well there. It was at a park, and it was boiling hot! We went home afterwards to open all the windows. It did not cool down till 8:30pm that night! So we cleaned house in preperation for Jimmy's family coming over. We had a little family party for Vanessa (my friend Beth and her son came over too). Once again, Vanessa did a great job blowing out her candles. She loved the gifts she got. And we ate pink cake with pink frosting, I got the ice-cream out this time (I had forgotten about it for her Sat party). We had a great time with everyone here, even if it was a bit squishy.
