Jimmy's Aunt Shelley passed away November 26th. It was a very sad time for his family. He really should be typing this! I have only heard stories about her. I've visited her two times and I think she came here once. So I've only seen her three times. From what I hear, she was wonderwoman! She had 8 kids. All at home. She served everyone in her stake. I think the whole stake was at her funeral! About 4 weeks before she passed away, Eldona (Shelley's sister and my mother-in-law) was going to UT to help Shari pack to come out here. She got a call the day before she was scheduled to fly out there with the news that Shelley was in the hospital, and that they had found a tumor/cancer in her lungs. So she had a stop in AZ (she normally doesn't get flights that have stops!) She got to spend some time with her then. She went down again at the end of her stay in UT. Then a week or so later she and Jim went down again for about a week. At that time they had found cancer in her lung, liver, spleen, uterus, and something in her brain. I don't think they ever pinpointed what it was. She was at stage 4. It was a very, very fast decline and it was good that Eldona got to go see her sister so much. She told me how Shelley was acting towards the end and it reminded me of my mom. Actually the whole story (except for how quickly it happened) reminded me of my mom! It was very sad to watch from the outside. One good thing about funerals, is that it brings us together. All the cousins had a great time reuniting and playing and running around. Vanessa tried so hard to join in on the fun!
