Vanessa is trying to get the last bit off her spoon!
Another month has flown by! Vanessa started solids for reals this last month. I gave her rice to start off with. She loved it right away. Then a few weeks ago I tried carrots on her. I didn't want to since they are so sweet. I thought they might ruin her forever! But she seems to be fine. She downed a few tablespoon of the mashed carrots in no time flat. Then a week after that I ground up a potato. She did not like it. So I thought back on my childhood and remembered my mom mashing up stew stuff for us kids. So I decided to put carrots and potatoes together and it worked. She loved it. She tries to feed herself now. But I don't let her too much, or she wouldn't get anything in her mouth! I love watching her try to figure out how to eat! She still sucks on her spoon to get the stuff off, and it just doesn't come fast enough. She is growing like crazy. I'm going to have to get her bigger clothes out soon. She recently graduated to a crib and doesn't seem to mind at all, as long as she has a couple books read to her and everyone kiss her goodnight, and of course having mommy or daddy tuck her into her blankets with her stuffed animals close at hand.
